| Position Summary | The Communications and Content Manager is a creative, strategic leader responsible for shaping and sharing the story of the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. This role centers on executing a dynamic content strategy focused on digital that communicates the College’s mission, academic excellence, and community impact to a wide range of external and internal audiences, including academic peers, prospective and current students and parents, faculty, alumni, donors, and the broader public, including local, state, and federal government entities. With a strong emphasis on digital content creation, the manager produces compelling written, visual, and multimedia materials, such as short-form videos, email and website marketing, content for social media channels, that highlight the College’s exceptional and diverse programs, research, scholarship, and creative output, and its people, including alumni, students, faculty, and staff. The role requires a deep understanding of how to tailor messaging across channels and audiences, ensuring clarity, relevance, engagement, and broad appeal. Collaboration is central to this position. The manager works closely with academic departments, faculty, university partners, student groups, Franklin development and alumni relations, student academic services, UGA government relations, and central marketing and communications. This individual serves as a strategic partner and creative resource, helping stakeholders across the college articulate their expertise and goals and translate them into effective communications. This position reports to the Senior Director of Communications and Content Strategy and is part of a three-person content team within the College’s larger Office of Marketing and Communications. |

The position requires a strategic mindset, creative vision, and the ability to adapt messaging to resonate with a wide range of audiences. The ideal candidate is a skilled writer and storyteller, a strategic thinker, and a collaborative communicator with a strong digital background who thrives in a fast-paced academic environment. Duties/ Responsibilities Duties/ Responsibilities Execution of a comprehensive content strategy focused on digital channels, particularly for the website and its content bank, that supports the College’s mission and strategic priorities. Includes creating engaging and high-quality content for dissemination across digital and traditional marketing platforms (e.g., websites, print, newsletters, and social media channels). The manager is responsible for writing, shooting, and editing videos; print and/or digital faculty, student, and alumni profiles; informational web content; and marketing materials that showcase the College’s faculty, students, academic and research strengths, and community impact. Externally, work with university communications, helping to amplify the College’s visibility and reputation. Closely collaborate with academic departments, development and alumni relations, the office of information technology, student academic services, government relations, and student ambassadors to ensure content messaging is aligned, timely, and effective.
