Community Facility Manager II

Salary Range: $54,863 - $60,000 annually

General Description and Classification Standards

Manages the daily operation of a large community facility or a combination of community facilities for City citizens by directing activities/programming, developing and supervising assigned staff, assisting with interdepartmental projects and initiatives, and processing associated documents and reports.

Supervision Received

Works under very general supervision focusing on long-term and short-term operating objectives.

  • Manages assigned neighborhood center and associated programs; evaluates and directs operation and function of facility to increase efficiency and quality of services.
  • Assists in budget preparation and ensures successful implementation.
  • Coordinates and supervises activities engaged in by participating agencies that extend services to meet the needs of citizens.
  • Maintains communication between participating and non-participating agencies, citizens committees, and city departments.
  • Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, handling employee concerns and problems, directing work, scheduling, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals.
  • Establishes meetings between the neighborhood and planning units/agencies and citizens committees as necessary.
  • Prepares, receives, and/or reviews various documentation including grant proposals/applications, neighborhood comprehensive planning, purchase orders, general correspondence, and weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
  • Prepares and updates marketing materials; attends fairs and other events as needed to promote recreation programs for the City.
  • Selects from multiple procedures and methods to accomplish tasks.
  • Establishes work methods, timetables, performance standards, etc.
  • Maintains formal supervisory authority over work group (typically at least 6-7 employees) to include discipline, performance management, scheduling, training, etc.
  • Attends meetings and site visits with senior management, department managers, vendors, and staff to discuss/plan/monitor operations, special projects, and programs.
  • Meets with senior management daily to discuss and implement organization goals.
  • May make purchasing or resource allocation decisions within organization guidelines.
  • May interpret organizational policies and recommend exceptions.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
