Summary

Provides leadership and coordination for planning, implementation, and assessment of curriculum/instructional initiatives related to a comprehensive suite of intervention services, including Response to Instruction and Intervention, Remedial Programs, and MTSS; Ensures compliance with all State and Federal Laws, State Department of Education Rules and Regulations and Fulton County Board of Education Policies where applicable.

Essential Duties
  • Directs and evaluates Intervention Services staff
  • Communicates with Services for Exceptional Children Department to ensure coordination of students transitioning from Tier 3
  • Communicates with schools and appropriate agencies and ensures adherence to MTSS, RtI and EIP/Remedial guidelines
  • Supports the development of local school allotments and provides guidance for approved state remediation (EIP/REP) models and scheduling
  • Develops and provides training for administrators and teachers related to MTSS, RtI and all intervention services including EIP/REP
  • Coordinates the administration of at-risk grants and funds
  • Prepares and maintains annual budgets to support the administration of RtI and EIP/REP and all programs to ensure long-term and short-term plans are aligned with District and state priorities
  • Designs, implements, and evaluates professional development for local school staff working in Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports
  • Collaborates with Learning and Teaching to ensure that all interventions are aligned and support mastery of the core curricula
  • Identifies and/or develops promising educational practices that have potential for improving student achievement
  • Investigates, proposes, and implements associated grants for intervention services at all grade levels
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
Required Education
Master’s Degree in Education
Certification/Licensure
Must hold or be eligible for Georgia Teaching Certification in applicable subject area
Leadership Certification strongly preferred
Experience Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience and 3 additional years of classroom teaching experience required; Experience in providing intervention services preferred; Experience in the administration of budgets preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Knowledge of current research and experience with the Response to Instruction and Intervention processes and remedial/intervention strategies and best practices
  • Ability to supervise and work effectively with departmental personnel
  • Good decision-making and problem solving skills
  • Ability to develop implement, monitor, and evaluate program goals and initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
