JOB TITLE/LOCATION:

Quality Inspector &- Ball Ground, GA

DESCRIPTION:

RBC AeroComponents, div of RBC Bearings is a contract aerospace manufacturing plant that takes pride in producing products for the private and military sector.

We currently have a full-time position open for Quality Inspector. This person will be responsible for checking parts, verifying paperwork and working with the Quality team to maintain quality, follow safety standards and guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:

  • Plan & Execute Inspections: Must be able to interpret aerospace blueprints and determine the most effective metrology methods and equipment for verification.
  • Manual Inspection: Proficiency with hand tools (Micrometers, Calipers, Height Gages, Bore Gages) for verification when the CMM is busy or impractical.
  • Mathematical Proficiency: Strong shop math skills, for calculating dimensions not explicitly stated on prints.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to follow instructions and maintain traceability.

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or GED required

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Quality Inspector

SKILLS PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:

  • Software Experience: Prior use of PC-DMIS or Zeiss Calypso (other CMM experience is welcomed)
  • GD&T Understanding: Be able to interpret complex aerospace blueprints and apply ASME Y14.5 standards (positional tolerances, profile, etc.).
  • Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in an AS9100 or ISO 9001 environment.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis or Corrective Actions (CAPA).
  • Documentation: Experience performing and recording First Article Inspections (FAI).
  • CMM Fundamental Logic: Demonstrates ability to set up and run parts on the CMM as well as perform a CMM calibration
