Job Description: Janitor
Department: 700
Job Summary
The Janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in designated areas throughout the facility in support of continuous improvement initiatives. This role ensures a safe, clean, and sustainable working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, dusting, mopping, and sanitizing floors, walls, and equipment in assigned areas.
- Maintain cleanliness standards to support continuous improvement efforts across the facility.
- Perform minor touch-up work including painting floors, walls, and equipment when required.
- Ensure all work areas meet company cleanliness and safety standards.
- Complete daily assignments as directed by supervision.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
- Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred but not required.
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong initiative, proactive mindset, and a high level of energy.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to thoroughness and quality.
- Dependable and motivated to complete daily tasks effectively.
Physical & Working Conditions
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Work may be performed in environments that are dirty, hot, or otherwise physically uncomfortable.
- Requires standing, walking, bending, and use of cleaning equipment for extended periods.
