Position Title: Campus Safety Monitor (CSM)
Division: Leadership Services/School
Reports To: Principal and District Safety & Security Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Salary Schedule: Hourly
Work Days: School Hours, 190 Days


Essential Duties:
  1. Maintain an ongoing review of the physical security of the assigned school location.
  2. Assist building administrators with the continuous monitoring of the school campus.
  3. Assist with the supervision of students during transitions in the hallways.
  4. Alert building administrators of any safety and security concerns throughout the school day.
  5. Conduct school facility security vulnerability assessments and make suggestions to school administrators.
  6. Maintain continuous indoor and outdoor monitoring of the school property.
  7. Monitor to ensure the exterior school doors are secure during the school day.
  8. Monitor hallways to meet the expectations of building administrators.
  9. Appropriately monitor restrooms throughout the school day according to set guidelines.
  10. Attend and participate in training workshops by the District Safety and Security Director.
  11. Maintain confidentiality of all school information concerning students, staff, and school business.
  12. Attend faculty meetings and other meetings as required by school administrator.
  13. Demonstrate positive working relationships with the students, building administration team, building staff, and community stakeholders.
  14. Assist with the management of car and bus traffic.
  15. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
  1. Minimum of a High School Diploma or state-approved High School Equivalency (HSE), required.
  2. Ability to work late nights and some weekends.
  3. Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
  4. Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
  5. Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
  6. Ability to be present at the physical worksite.
  7. Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
  8. Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
  9. Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations.
  10. Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
